This set of three photo's were taken at Stretton Aqueduct on the Shroppie (Industry Narrowboats) the boats are (from bank) Sultan (ex-FMC Steamer) I have been informed that this boat is actually BARONESS (also ex-FMC steamer) renamed by Ernie Thomas after he had the original SULTAN cut up in the 50's. My grandfather recounted a tale to me of coming round the turn at Birchills to see a steamer on the bank being cut up for scrap, even in those days it upset him to see such a magnificent boat being chopped up. He went on to own the VULCAN also ex steamer, also in shot are Bream (Fish class FMC Motor) and Birmingham (Woolwich Motor)
TENCH as she is today.
TROUT at Shardlow
VANGUARD
MALLARD ex VICTORY 90's
renamed VICTORY she is otherwise unchanged today
VULCAN as she would probably have been seen approx 80 years ago, moored within Braunston basin.
